Dance Genres Taught
We will have 25 Dance Instructors offering 1-3hr Workshops in the different styles of Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, & Zouk. These workshops will happen in different areas of the ship. Each workshop will vary in price, but will start at $20 & must be paid separately on Eventbrite in advance by April 12th. Locations and times will be updated here as we get closer to the cruise!

Ronny & Jen (Tampa)

Amy Figueiras Dominguez, the founder and director of KURA Dance Company in Orlando, FL, discovered dance at a young age as an escape and a form of therapy while growing up with a mother diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Starting her dance journey at seven, Amy was trained by masters in various genres, including renowned figures like Debbie Allen and dancers from Alvin Ailey, while with the DC ShowBiz dancers. In 2009, she moved to Orlando, where she deepened her Mambo skills, studying and teaching alongside Eric Baez at Universal Mambo Dance Academy.
In 2013, Amy founded her own company, now known as KURA. Since 2015, she has graced the stage with salsa legends like Ismael Miranda and Oscar de Leon, and her choreography has been featured in music videos for artists such as La India and Gilberto Santa Rosa. A pioneer in the industry, Amy has headlined as an instructor and performer at congresses and festivals, and in 2025, she'll add artistic/stage director to her impressive resume. Her company, KURA, boasts over 30 members from diverse backgrounds and ages, promoting dance as a positive social outlet and making a strong presence in the U.S. salsa community. As Amy herself reflects, "Dance is my KURA," embodying the healing and transformative power of music and movement that she hopes to inspire in others.
Bachata Sensual
Ronny Moran, an Ecuadorian-Venezuelan dancer and the Director of the Bachata Sensual Team at Latin Street Dance Studio in Chicago, began his dance journey in 2018. He's since trained extensively with international masters like Korke & Judith, even completing their prestigious Bachata Sensual Instructor Course in May 2024. Ronny is celebrated in the Chicago dance scene for his seamless blend of modern, traditional, and sensual Bachata, alongside his expertise in Salsa On1 and Merengue. Beyond his impressive dance skills, his warm and supportive teaching style fosters a safe and thriving environment for students of all levels. Holding a Bachelor's in Economics, Ronny also serves as Latin Street's Business Development Manager, truly integrating his passion for dance into every aspect of his professional life.
Joining Ronny is Yanira Trujillo, Latin Street's Artistic Program & Outreach Manager and a passionate dance professional with over a decade of performance experience. Yanira brings a dynamic blend of dance, project management, and communication skills to create impactful opportunities for Chicago dancers. Her journey began at 13, focusing on hip-hop and contemporary, and she now dedicates herself to empowering individuals of all ages to embrace dance, build confidence, and express themselves. Known for her energetic and inclusive teaching approach, Yanira is committed to sharing the transformative power of dance, inspiring students to dream, dance, and flourish.

Bachata Sensual
Yair Guzman (Orlando & Peru)

Yair Guzman, originally from Perú, is a professional dancer and choreographer currently based in Orlando, Florida since 2018. With over 15 years of extensive training in various dance styles including Bachata, Salsa, Reggaetón, Hip-hop, Street Jazz, Zouk, Contemporary, Cumbia, and Merengue, Yair has established himself as a versatile performer.
His experience spans across television appearances, theater productions, stage performances as a dancer for musical artists, competitions, and more. As the founder of "Bachata Fusion Sensual" dance company, Yair is known for his innovative choreography and captivating performances.
His classes in Orlando are highly sought after, drawing participants from across the city, and he is regularly invited to teach at prestigious festivals both domestically and internationally. Yair's accolades include multiple 1st place competition wins in Bachata (2018), Salsa (2018), and Hip-Hop International (2014), showcasing his exceptional talent and dedication to his craft.
Brazilian zouk/kizomba
Jules Bertrand (Montreal)

Jules Bertrand Nouyadjam is a dance teacher, performer, choreographer and DJ!
Jules is originally from Cameroon, Africa and has been living in Montreal, Canada since the age of 10. He has been a passionate dancer for over 20 years, exploring everything from African dance, salsa, afro-cuban, bachata, cha cha, samba and hip hop. He is inspired by connection, fusion and body isolation.
In 2010, after falling in love with Brazilian zouk and kizomba, Jules opened the Interfusion Danse Company with the goal to spread the passion for this two dances with the organisation of festival (GYZO), dance classes and party. Jules has spent time living in Brazil to fully immerse himself in the culture, language and various styles of Brazilian zouk.
Jules travelled to Portugal and Paris to take part in a comprehensive Kizomba and Semba teacher training, also in Angola to further his knowledge in the traditional source of these dances.
Today, Jules have set a new goal to create a Kizouk World community with is concept of D.A.T life (Dance Adventure Travel). Kizouk : a connection of kizomba and brazilian zouk dance build from basic concept and foundation of both dances.
Jules has been teaching, performing and djing in salsa, bachata, zouk, kizomba and afro events in Canada, USA, Europe, Brazil and Asia!
Issam & Melanie (Montreal)

Issam Coluna’s dance journey began in 2008 in Morocco, where he was first introduced to capoeira. However, it was in 2010 in France that his passion for Latin dances was ignited. From that moment, Issam became deeply immersed in the world of dance, exploring a wide variety of styles. His love for diversity in movement led him to embrace everything from traditional bachata to sensual bachata, Cuban salsa, Afro-Cuban rhythms, kizomba, and more.
In 2013, Issam moved to Canada and began his teaching career with the Rueda Project, sharing his knowledge of rueda de casino. A year later, his focus shifted to bachata, teaching at Bachata Night and further solidifying his role in the dance community. Over the years, Issam has taught at numerous festivals and events across Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, and Toronto.
Known for his love of fusion and his unique approach to blending styles, Issam’s strength lies in his ability to adapt and connect with the diversity of dance. His passion for experimentation and creative expression is a hallmark of his teaching and performances.
In early 2020, Issam began teaching alongside Mélanie, marking the start of a new chapter in his dance career. Together, they continue to inspire and elevate dancers, bringing their shared vision of artistry and connection to every class and workshop they lead.

We are thrilled to announce that Andres Meneses of Latin Street Music & Dancing, a renowned Latin dance instructor, DJ, and entrepreneur, has joined the Del Mar Dance Cruise! He will be assisted by the talented Young Mitrisin, making this an incredible opportunity to learn from two of the best in the industry.

With over 20 years of experience in the Latin dance scene, Andres is a true master of his craft. As the owner of Latin Street Music & Dancing, he has dedicated his life to sharing his passion for dance and music with others. Andres has graced prestigious stages across the US and Canada, including The Chicago Theater and the Dance Center of Columbia College. His expertise has also been recognized internationally, as he has served as a judge at the World Salsa Championships and worked as a producer, choreographer, and dancer for hit TV shows like Empire and Chicago Med.

As a talented DJ known as DJ Papi, Andres has been a driving force in the Chicago music scene since 1995. He has produced Grammy-nominated music, judged Grammy awards, and held long-standing residencies at top venues in the city. His dynamic performances and eclectic music selections have captivated audiences at major events like the Chicago Summer Dance and the Chicago Salsa Festival.

Ismael, renowned for his unique and innovative dance style, has captivated audiences worldwide. With over 29 years of experience and a background in breakdancing and hip-hop, he brings a fresh perspective to Salsa, incorporating intricate arm work, unique turns, and incredible musicality.
And he's not alone! His daughter, Zianna, is a rising star in her own right! Zianna's passion for dance started in childhood, performing alongside her father with the Caribbean Soul Dancers. A champion dancer, she has won three world championships with Melanie Castillo y su Candela and Irôko Dance Academy. Known for her welcoming personality, Zianna is dedicated to inspiring others and bringing out the best in every dancer.

Orlando Machuca Jr., a true "Jack of all Trades" in the DMV dance scene, teams up with the exceptional Estefany! With over two decades of teaching experience at prestigious venues (TSR, Cafe Citron, Bachata Brunch, The Wharf Limani, and more), Orlando is a master instructor, leading, following, and mentoring with unparalleled skill. His performance career, starting in 2003, includes traveling with Clavekazi and founding HD Dancers, collaborating with renowned artists. Beyond the dance floor, Orlando shines as an MC, hosting events like Pura Vintage, DCBX, Underground Anvrsy, and Baltimore Salsa Bachata Congress. Prepare to be amazed by Orlando and Estefany's combined talent and passion!

Modern Bachata
Jorge & Melissa (Orlando)

Jorge and Melissa have been teaching and dancing together in Orlando since 2010. Jorge got his start in music at a young age, and is a talented musician and martial artist. Melissa has been dancing since her high school days, where she fell in love with it when she joined the marching band at her school and attended Florida School of the Arts, where she trained in Ballet and Tap.
Their dance journey together led them to teach and travel as Latin Intensity in the early 2010s, then joining forces with Universal Mambo Dance Academy (UMDA) in 2014 and eventually starting Fusion Arts Dance Expression (FADE) in 2017. They and their various teams have performed and taught all over the Southeastern US, as well as Reno, LA, San Francisco, and Dallas. Primarily known for their modern bachata fusion with sensual elements, they are also accomplished Salsa, Cha Cha Cha, and Urban Kiz dancers as well.
Jorge and Melissa offer a unique teaching style designed to help students grasp
technical aspects and form good foundations that allow for more self expression in social dancing. The use of body mechanics to explain movement, and proper lead and follow are the core of their classes. Their goal is to help all levels of students gain increased awareness to allow them to feel the music and gain confidence on the floor.
